Discovery Week Day 5

Day 5:  15.11.13 : Mixing colours
Today we learnt about the COLOUR WHEEL.

The primary colours are red, yellow and blue. You can’t mix these colours.  All the other colours are made by mixing them together.
The secondary colours, are orange, green and purple.  You mix two primary colours together.
Yellow +red=orange     Red+blue=purple     Blue+yellow=green

Tertiary colours are a mix of a         primary colour and a secondary       colour.

To make colour TONES, you add white to make a colour lighter, and a tiny bit of black to make it darker.

On our palette, we mixed paint to match the colour of some flowers from Mrs Caudwell’s garden.  Then we painted the flower.
